Cannington is a village about 4 miles outside Bridgwater, Somerset, UK. The village church is a beautiful building, largely 15C, with a wonderful acoustic. Each year we put on a series of events, of many types of music: piano , organ, instrumentalists, jazz, early music etc, and drama

June Concert
The Parish Church of St Mary the Virgin, Cannington
The next concert
This year we are trying to raise a lot of money to renovate the organ in the Parish Church, so much of the music is home grown. But when that includes a talent like Mary Morgan, Cannington based American soprano, quality is not up for discussion. She recently returned from singing Vivaldi and other music in the Baltic states and is already scheduled to give a concert of 16C and 17C songs to lute accompaniment in the Autumn. We are very fortunate to have her in the choir at St Mary's. She has offered another event towards the organ fund and this is it.
The varied programme is called These are a few of my favourite things and, as the advert has it, it does exactly what it says on the tin. Music by Bach and Schubert mingles with American show music and English songs. Details here.
It will be a really great evening (and I shall enjoy accompanying her on the piano) so put the details in your diary now.
